Job Position: Farm Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Farm Manager to oversee and manage large-scale agricultural production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supervising farm activities, managing resources and staff, optimizing production, and ensuring efficient and sustainable farming practices.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in agricultural production management, crop planning, irrigation, farm machinery, and team leadership, with the ability to work effectively in a large-scale farming environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all agricultural production activities.
• Develop and implement crop production plans in line with business objectives.
• Monitor crop development, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and harvesting activities.
• Optimize production processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Manage farm resources, including labor, machinery, equipment, inputs, and other materials.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate farm employees to ensure effective performance.
• Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
• Implement modern and sustainable agricultural practices.
• Monitor farm activities and ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Prepare regular production and operational reports for senior management.
• Identify operational challenges and provide timely and practical solutions.
• Coordinate with relevant departments, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
• Ensure all farm activities are completed according to established plans and timelines.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial farming operations.
• Strong practical knowledge of crop production, irrigation systems, farm machinery, and agricultural inputs.
• Experience in production planning, resource allocation, and farm operations management.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large teams.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets and deadlines.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Language Requirement: Fluency in Afaan Oromo is mandatory.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in agricultural production or farm management.
