Job Summary:

We are looking for a Junior HR Officer who will support the Human Resources department with administrative and operational tasks. The role includes assisting with recruitment, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. The Junior HR Officer will also handle employee inquiries, support payroll and benefits administration, and assist in coordinating training programs and employee relations activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff planning, recruitment, induction, development, appraisal, and performance management, and contract termination are in line with HR policies and procedures and the labor law;
  • Oversees and coordinates all HR administration tasks, including benefits administration;
  • Handle vacancy announcements and follow up on the timely collection of applications;
  • Make preliminary screening of applications for further shortlisting and present them to the Hiring Manager;
  • Arrange appointments for short-listed candidates and contact candidates for exams/ interviews;
  • Shortlist and screen applications as per the requirement set for the position, including conducting background and reference checks;
  • Ensure staff insurance, pension, and other requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner;
  • Manage the employee files, benefits, and performance records in line with the HR guidelines and with confidentiality;
  • Handle leave requests and update records timely to prepare the quarterly utilization report;
  • Build staff database and keep track of all relevant information;
  • Assist the senior HR officer in managing complaints in accordance with the HR Manual;
  • Completing termination paperwork and assisting with exit interviews;
  • Perform other duties as per the instructions of the department manager;

Academic qualification 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Management, or related fields;

  • Good knowledge of Ethiopia Labor Law 

Years of experience: 

  • 2+ years of experience in the Human Resources field.
