We are seeking for a Junior Procurement Officer to support the procurement team in sourcing quality goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with organizational procurement procedures. The role involves preparing documentation, coordinating quotations, following up on orders, and assisting in maintaining accurate procurement and inventory records. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional seeking to grow a career in supply chain and procurement management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing requests for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, bid documents, and related procurement paperwork;
- Support the sourcing of suppliers and gather quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality service;
- Review and compare supplier offers, preparing summary analyses for review by the Procurement Officer or Manager;
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services;
- Inspect delivered items and report any inconsistencies or quality issues;
- Maintain proper records of all procurement transactions in accordance with organizational guidelines;
- Assist in maintaining stock levels and support inventory monitoring and reordering processes;
- Liaise with internal departments to confirm procurement needs and specifications;
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and ethical standards;
- Perform other related tasks assigned by the Procurement Officer or line manager.
Academic qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Additional qualifications
- Good organizational and time-management skills;
- Good knowledge of procurement procedures and documentation;
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or procurement software is an asset.
- Good communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good command of Amharic and English, both written and spoken.
Work Experience
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain operations (internship experience also considered).
