Job Summary:

We are hiring a self-motivated, friendly, and persuasive Purchaser who will be responsible for managing local procurement activities and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required for the organization’s operations. The Purchaser will coordinate with suppliers, obtain quotations, evaluate offers, and ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining quality standards. The role also involves maintaining good relationships with vendors and ensuring that all procurement processes comply with the company’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with suppliers across the business to align the purchasing process with sales objectives and overall business strategy;
  • Establish requirements of specified packaging materials both local and imported based on medium-term requirements;
  • Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency;
  • Follow-up on supplier confirmation of purchase orders and shipment;
  • Purchase materials and equipment, develop vendor agreements, and establish relationships;
  • Maintain pricing policies and oversee the negotiation of vendor values and agreements;
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing material usage, ordering, and inventory levels;
  • Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues timely;
  • Search available products to find the best combination of quality, price, and delivery;
  • Monitor and report inventory levels, stock obsolescence, and inventory variances;
  • Writing reports on purchases made and performing cost analyses;
  • Identify damaged or defective goods and work out an alternative solution with the supplier;
  • Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations;
  • Other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Education Qualification: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related field.

Work experience:
