We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team, who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The incumbent will lead financial reporting processes, handle complex accounting transactions, and provide valuable insights to support decision-making. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the accounting team and other departments to ensure financial efficiency, accuracy, and integrity in all financial activities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out standard accounting procedures and prepares monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and bank reconciliation statements;
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
- Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status based on the analysis results;
- Ensure that all cash vouchers and any other relevant documents are completely signed and authorized.
- Monitor monthly income and expenditure and provide advice and guidance;
- Responsible for all bank account operations including preparation of fund transfer and/or other bank documents and monitoring bank accounts;
- Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency;
- Monitors account payables/receivables and gives monthly feedback to the responsible manager;
- Responsible for creditors and debtors’ administration, including local subsidies and local consultants;
- Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts;
- Maintains office inventory records and documents purchased and handed over materials;
- Coordinates the year-end closing activities and assists with financial Auditing activities, internal and external;
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance;
- Maintain a professional filing and retrieval system for the Financial Section and keep information confidential
- Assists in other organizational activities and tasks, as assigned.
Academic qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field.
Additional qualifications
- Able to communicate verbally and in written format;
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including accounting software;
- Efficiency in English, both writing and speaking, is essential;
- Ability to work in a team and have excellent communication skills;
- Self-motivated, result-oriented attitude and well-organized work ethic;
- Preferably with previous experience in the preparation of Financial Reports;
Years of experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the supermarket or wholesale sector.
