Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Senior HR & Administration Officer to lead and strengthen our human resources and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing end-to-end HR functions, supporting organizational growth, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian labor laws, and driving administrative efficiency across the office. This role requires a proactive professional with excellent communication skills, sound judgment, strong leadership potential, and the ability to maintain high operational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the full recruitment cycle, including job posting, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checks, and onboarding;
  • Maintain and update HR policies, guidelines, and procedures in line with Ethiopian labor laws and organizational standards;
  • Administer employee records, contracts, benefits, attendance, and leave management systems;
  • Handle employee relations, provide guidance on HR matters, and support conflict resolution;
  • Oversee performance management processes and support managers in implementing performance improvement plans;
  • Coordinate staff training, capacity-building activities, and employee engagement initiatives;
  • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of all HR information;
  • Manage daily administrative functions and supervise office support staff;
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and inventory tracking of office assets, supplies, and equipment;
  • Oversee travel, logistics, workshops, and meeting coordination for internal and external events;
  • Support contract management, vendor coordination, and procurement documentation;
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security procedures in the workplace;
  • Improve administrative workflows and recommend process enhancements for efficiency;
  • Ensure organizational practices comply with local labor regulations and internal policies;
  • Prepare HR and administrative reports, workforce statistics, and management updates;
  • Assist in audit processes and provide required HR/admin documentation.

Academic qualification 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Management, and other business-related fields.

Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws, HR standards, and best practices;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills;
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and problem-solving ability;
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and HR information systems;
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to keep deadlines.

Years of experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in HR and administrative functions, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
