Job Position: Senior Supply Chain Specialist

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced, analytical, and proactive Senior Supply Chain Specialist to support end-to-end supply chain operations, optimize processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to cost-effective sourcing, procurement, logistics, and inventory management. The Senior Supply Chain Specialist will serve as a key expert in supply chain activities, provide technical support on procurement and logistics, analyze data for improvements, and promote efficient, transparent operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of supply chain strategies, including demand forecasting, procurement planning, and inventory optimization;
• Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and performance monitoring to ensure reliable sourcing and value for money;
• Coordinate logistics activities, including importation, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, and distribution;
• Monitor inventory levels, analyze supply chain data, and implement improvements to reduce costs and enhance efficiency;
• Prepare technical specifications, bid documents, and evaluation reports for procurement processes;
• Advise managers and teams on supply chain best practices, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance;
• Assist in supplier relationship management, contract administration, and dispute resolution;
• Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of supply chain transactions for audit and reporting purposes;
• Contribute to monthly/quarterly reports on supply chain performance, cost savings, inventory trends, and KPIs;
• Support process improvements, sustainability initiatives, and preferential sourcing for local suppliers;
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Supply Chain Manager or senior management.

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, or related fields. 

Additional Skills

• Proven expertise in procurement processes, logistics operations, inventory management, and supply chain analysis;
• Proficiency in supply chain software, ERP systems, MS Office (especially Excel for data analysis), and reporting tools;
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills;
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and interpersonal abilities;
• High level of integrity, ethical standards, and commitment to transparency;
• Fluency in English and Amharic (both written and spoken); additional local languages are a plus;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
• Good communication and report-writing skills.

Years of experience:

•  6+ years of hands-on experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics, with at least 3 years in a senior or specialist role.
